Using the Jobs by Workable MCP server to connect to AI assistant

This is upcoming functionality and is not yet available.

The Jobs by Workable MCP (Model Context Protocol) server lets you connect your AI assistant directly to the Jobs by Workable job board. Once connected, you can search open roles, look up companies, get job summaries, and interact with your profile, all through natural language, without leaving your AI tool.

This article covers what you can do with the Jobs by Workable MCP server and how to get connected.

Before you begin

To use the Jobs by Workable MCP server, you need an AI client that supports MCP, such as Claude, ChatGPT, or another MCP-compatible tool.

You can use the Jobs by Workable MCP server to search jobs without a Jobs by Workable candidate profile and without signing in.

If you sign in, you will get additional functionality via the MCP: you can update your profile and manage your applications. To create your profile, check: Creating a Job Seeker profile.

Connecting the Jobs by Workable MCP server

To connect the Jobs by Workable MCP server to your AI client, follow these steps:

Open your AI client's MCP configuration settings. Depending on your tool, this may be a settings menu, a configuration file, or a connector marketplace.
Add a new MCP server using the following URL: https://jobs.workable.com/mcp.
Connect the server. You do not need to sign in to search jobs or look up companies. If you use a functionality that requires authentication, you will be prompted to sign in with your Jobs by Workable account credentials to authorize the connection via OAuth2.
Once connected, your AI assistant will have access to jobs and companies on Jobs by Workable and can start answering questions on your behalf.
Soon, the connector will be available on the Anthropic and OpenAI stores. By installing the connector, you don’t need to perform any of the steps above.

This server is for candidates using the public job board. It is not the Workable MCP server used to manage recruiting in a Workable account (https://mcp.workable.com/mcp). If you already use that connector, add Jobs by Workable as a separate server.

Jobs by Workable MCP server capabilities

Once connected, your AI assistant has access to tools across the Jobs by Workable job board. Here's what you can do, organized by area:

Jobs

Search published jobs by keyword, location, workplace (remote, hybrid, on-site), employment type, how recently the job was posted, or by company.
View details for a specific job, including description, requirements, benefits, and the apply link.
List cities and countries where jobs are currently posted.
Get personalized job recommendations matched to your profile.
See popular or recent job search terms for your location.

Companies

View a company profile, website, and open jobs.
Browse the roles a specific employer is hiring for.

Profile

View your candidate profile, including contact details, headline, summary, resume, education, and experience.
Update your profile (name, phone, location, education, and work experience).

Applications

List the jobs you have applied to.
Withdraw an application (this cannot be undone from here).

Some of these tools work without signing in (search, job details, company lookup, and locations). Tools that act on your profile or applications will ask you to sign in with your Jobs by Workable account when you use them.

Your AI assistant can access your profile and applications only after you authorize the connection. It cannot submit a new application for you; you still apply in the browser using the apply link.

How to apply for a job

Your AI assistant can find a job and share the application link. It cannot submit the application for you.

To apply:

Ask your AI assistant to find the role and show the apply link.
Open the link in your browser.
Sign in with your Jobs by Workable profile.
Review the application, attach your resume if needed, and submit.

If you are signed in with your Jobs by Workable profile, most fields will be prefilled. After you apply, you can also use the Jobs by Workable MCP server to withdraw the job application if needed.
