If you're unable to submit your job application — whether the page is stuck on "Submitting…", you're seeing an error message, or the Submit button just isn't responding — start with the general troubleshooting steps below. If those don't help, check the specific scenarios further down.
General troubleshooting
Work through these steps in order:
- Refresh the page and try again. This resolves many temporary issues, including "Something went wrong" errors.
- Confirm that every required field, usually marked with an asterisk, has a valid entry.
- Try submitting from a private/incognito browser tab, a different browser, or a different network. A browser extension or a network security setting can sometimes prevent the form from validating successfully.
If the issue persists after trying these steps, contact our support team for assistance.
Specific scenarios
Unsaved changes in a form section
Review the form for sections that have a Save button, such as an "Education" or "Experience" section. If these fields are still editable, select Save. The section will update and lock in your entry, after which you should be able to submit the application.
File upload issues
If you're unable to upload your resume or another required document, check the following:
- File size and type: Your file must be under 20MB and in an accepted format. See what if I can't upload a file because it's too big for the full list of accepted file types.
- Network restrictions: On networks with strict security settings, such as a workplace or public network, uploads can be blocked before they reach Workable. If your file won't upload, try again from a different network, such as your home network or a personal mobile hotspot.
- Field type: Some required document fields are set up by the hiring company as text fields rather than file uploads. If you don't see an option to attach a file, enter the requested information as text instead, or paste a link to the file if it's stored online, such as in Google Drive or Dropbox.
Cloudflare Turnstile verification error
Workable uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a background security check that confirms you're a real visitor rather than a bot before your application is submitted. If this check fails, you may see an error message mentioning "Cloudflare Turnstile" along with an error code, such as 600010.
If you see this error, try the following:
- Turn off your VPN: A VPN can interfere with the security check. Disable it and try submitting again.
- Switch networks: Access the application from a different network or IP address, such as your home network instead of a public or workplace one.
- Try a different browser or device: Some browser extensions, privacy settings, or outdated browser versions can prevent the check from completing.
