Allow access to your camera and microphone

The interview site needs to use your computer's camera and microphone so you can record your answers. Please also make sure that you are using the latest version of a supported browser.

When you start the interview or practice for the first time you will be prompted to give access to the camera and microphone. Click Allow for both. (You only need to do this once.)

If you aren’t asked to allow access or if you blocked access before, you can change your settings by following the instructions below based on the browser you’re using.

Change the settings to allow access

Chrome

Click on Start interview or Let’s Practice First

In the top left, click the padlock icon next to the address bar.

Select Allow in the drop-down menu next to the camera and microphone.

The browser will ask you to Reload the updated settings. Click Reload or refresh the page.

The connected camera and microphone should now be ready for use.

Safari

Click on Start Interview or Let’s Practice First.

In the top bar, go to Safari -> Settings for This Website.

In the drop-down menu next to the camera and microphone, select Allow.

Reload the web page. A popup will appear asking if you should stay or leave the page. Select Leave.

From the initial page, select Start Interview or Let’s Practice First.

The connected camera and microphone should now be ready for use.

Firefox

Click on Start Interview or Let’s Practice First.

In the top left, click the microphone or camera icon next to the address bar.

Under permissions, remove the blocked camera and microphone by clicking on the X next to them.

Reload the web page. A popup will appear asking if you should stay or leave the page. Select Leave.

From the initial page, select Start Interview or Let’s Practice First.

The connected camera and microphone should now be ready for use.
