The interview site needs to use your computer or phone's camera and microphone so you can record your answers. Please also make sure that you are using the latest version of a supported browser.
When you start the interview or practice for the first time, you will be prompted to give access to the camera and microphone. Click Allow for both. (You only need to do this once.)
If you aren’t asked to allow access or if you blocked access before, you can change your settings by following the instructions below based on the browser you’re using.
Change the settings to allow access
- Click on Start interview or Let’s Practice First
- In the top left, click the padlock icon next to the address bar
- Select Allow in the drop-down menu next to the camera and microphone
- The browser will ask you to Reload the updated settings. Click Reload or refresh the page.
The connected camera and microphone should now be ready for use.
- Click on Start Interview or Let’s Practice First
- In the top bar, go to Safari -> Settings for This Website
- In the drop-down menu next to the camera and microphone, select Allow
- Reload the web page
- A popup will appear asking if you should stay or leave the page. Select Leave.
The connected camera and microphone should now be ready for use.
- Click on Start Interview or Let’s Practice First
- In the top left, click the microphone or camera icon next to the address bar
- Under permissions, remove the blocked camera and microphone by clicking on the X next to them.
- Reload the web page. A popup will appear asking if you should stay or leave the page. Select Leave.
The connected camera and microphone should now be ready for use.
iOS
Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsers are supported for video interviews on iOS.
In case you run into a problem, though, we recommend to follow the steps below:
- If you use Safari, visit Settings and locate the app. Tap on it to confirm that you have allowed access to the camera. If you use Chrome or Firefox, check if you have allowed access to the camera from the padlock icon in the browser window itself.
- Try a different browser
- Try another phone or computer
Android
Chrome, Firefox, and your operating system's default browser are supported for video interviews on Android.
In case you run into a problem, though, we recommend to follow the steps below:
- Check the phone’s Settings and locate the browser app you’re using. Tap on it to confirm that you have allowed access to the camera.
- Try a different browser
- Try another phone or computer
